Like many others, I suspect that he can no longer be bothered to post on this awful new forum, particularly if using mobile devices such as iThings.

That's something I have been wondering myself. Despite to poor changes on this site I don't really think it would keep him away permanently.

Come back Vlad we miss you.

Glad all of you are well and bored without me. *shok* Big love to everyone and especially to Electro for shooting me an email. *drinks*

Been spending my days either working, hiking or gardening/landscaping. I was listening music and talk radio mostly through £2 earbuds on my phone while enjoying nature.

But! Time to fire up some MOSFETs as slowly but surely autumn arives at my door. Time to do that thing we all love doing on this forum. Whatever that was, can't remember.

Oh yeah! Argue if we are hearing things or just "hearing things."

Good to hear all is well in the Vlad camp. I don't think you've missed anything and will probably go out hiking again when you start catching up with threads. Just the ever increasing circles of discussion I'n afraid.

I bought some kit. A Rotel RA 1570 and RCD 1570 along with some Kef R300's. I tried some B&W's, didn't like them, sorry.

Definitely you wont suffer with a KEF Reference speakers with dual concentric drivers and a hefty cabinet size. *ok* With the Rotty I presume sound is crystal clear and stunning on string music. How do you like the bass?

I tried several sets of speakers, using this test, among others. Only the MA GX100's and the Kefs really did it for me, given the constraint of needing a stand-mount. Both of these had great weight in the bass department, but the MA's stood out for their clarity. I really liked these, but it was soon apparent that at certain times, they were just too shrill, whereas the Kefs have a more laid back character, quite warm. In some respects I took a bit of a chance, but I'm now glad I did, because since they've been mounted on stands (they turned up yesterday) the bass has become a lot more focused and controlled, but still has the warm sound I like. I think the Rotel is doing a good job too, it always seems to have things under control, and I'm now hearing things I hadn't noticed before. Very good connectivity too. Yep, I'm very happy

Vladimir will you be upgrading your current CM1's to the latest CM1 S2 from B&W ?

I haven't auditioned the S2 yet. However, TBH I'm not a big fan of the new tweeter placement behind the mesh without the surrounding reflection plate. I understand its better protection, but I don't have kids so I prefer the naked dome. I might give the CM6 S2 also a look. Top mounted tweeters give really nice imaging.
