Introducing the PYE Record Maker. We had one of these when I was a kid. I made a few records with it. It was handed down from my Grandfather who purchased it in 1956.
Then, around 1974, my dad upgraded to a new 'separates' system (Goldring Lenco GL75, Nikko TRM300/FAM300 and AR 7's). All from 'New Dawn Hi Fi' in Chester.
I couldn't make records anymore 🙁 My recording career was over (before it had even started).
Those were the days my friend (we thought they'd never end)! LOL

Wow, I’d never heard of it. How did it work? Presumably there was a microphone of some sort.

The 1974 system is very familiar as I’d bought my first system the year before.

Indeed it did have a microphone, you could also record from the radio! Not sure what the BBC would have made of that little copyright issue! LOL
