Any improvement to be had?

Hi.Looking below at my amp (Stereo Reciever not AV) and turntable do you think that I would or could achieve an improvement in sound quality by getting a seperate phono stage the likes of the Rega Mini or something around this price range or do you think that the Marantz`s own phono stage is good enough.I am being bombarded with Christmas suggestions and I dont know what to say and this could be a possibility.Cheers.

is your phono stage moving magnet? if so get a step up transformer, this goes between record deck and phono stage, ideally a low output mc cart is the best..i use mine with a denon 110 which is high output..with good results, its a strange thing,you use a mc cart through the step up then through the mm phono stage....i use a cambridge audio 640p...doing this will give you a huge improvement.
