Another new brand - Unitra

Well, new to me at any rate, and it turns out they’re from Poland, so I thought they are likely to be reasonably priced. However, they aren’t cheap, if I’m doing the correct exchange of about 5 PLN to £1.

Thought I’d gone back to 1980’s looking at the styling, and especially the large speakers. Only encountered them from a mention in a dealer’s newsletter. And given the appeal that retro looks holds for many they may do well. Apparently been in business for 30 years.

I like the styling, very cool. I’d say that’s harking back to the 70s even- like Marantz 1060 etc. it’s a bit more subtle than Luxman, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Definitely not cheap, and lots of competition at £4k each for the amp & turntable, a little under £2k for the cd player. Wonder what it sounds like, can’t see any Uk dealers.

Only got U.K. distribution very recently, so you'll see dealers getting on board towards the end of the summer, maybe last quarter of this year - you won't usually see too many dealers taking on new brands during the quiet summer.

New to me as well. I like the retro look, add a little more interest to the components. Ultimately, though, it'll come to price & performance.

That’s interesting as their own website only mentions 30 years, but it’s quite possible. Seems like they were a Polish household name, so maybe a bit like Ecko radio or Ferguson TV once was in Great Britain?!
