Amp/Subwoofer general confusion

Im not sure how much of a valid question this is, but here goes. I have an old all in one hi fi system, where they have two standmounts and a sub + amp/cdplayer/tuner etc. and i was wondering if it is possible to connect the sub to my current setup of Tannoy floorstanders and NAD preamp + amp. Im pretty sure the sub-woofer is passive and am wondering how to wire it up so that it will work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the sub have line in/out?

It has two cable coming out of it, each consisting of two cables. One is connected to a phono male which plugs into the back of the CD-Deck/AMP, which im guessing is the signal, and the other one ends in a small white connector which plugs into the Deck as well, which is labelled control, which could be a specific control 'program.' Im looking for some pictures on the net to show exactly what im talking about.

From what I can see I don't think it will be possible with this sub as it only has a line in.
