Hi,

I am new to this forum, and I am looking for your feedback . Based on my research, I am interested in the following amp/CD combos:

1) Arcam A19 and Arcam CD17

2) Rega Brio-R and Rega Apollo-R

3) Creek Evolution 50a and ???

4) Marantz PM6005 and CD6005

My budget is approximately $1,500 - 2,000 for the amp, CD player and cables.

I am planning to visit a few local stores to listen the above systems. However, they do not have Tannoy speakers...:( I listen to all kind of music:)

Which can you recommend?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated - I have spent a lot of time reading this forum and few others, and I am even more confused now:)

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

You really need to audition speakers first to see if they will work in your listening room.

What makes you think the Tannoy will?

Out of your selected amps the Creek would be my choice but that would leave you not a lot for the CDP.

Posibility is going for a second hand CDP.

I would recommend the Audiolab 8200CD or the Marantz CD6005 if buying new.

Thank you for this info. I already own the Tannoy speakers; I used them in the past with NAD C370. However, I sold my amp a year ago.

It seems that many like Creek Evo 50a...

I did audition Creek Evo 50 few days ago vs Rega Brio R.. we did try different speakers than yours but my vote for Creek.

Marantz 6005 CDP would be my choice too if buying all new.
