All I want is a narrow amp to fit on a shelf. But no, the micro manufacturers all want a nice small front to the amps making them appear extra small in the mags, but meaning you need a shelf about 15" deep to sit them on.

Surely it makes more sense to make the unit shallow but wide so it will fit onto a reasonable shelf in the kitchen or bedroom.

Or is it just me?

Even better than the shallow unit would be the option to be able to put it one one end (a la PS3).

Any ideas? I've looked at the Russ Andrews Rave (no remote) and Fly Mole (v expensive).

Have a look at the MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A1 Integrated Amplfier, there is one on ebay at the mo, probably get it for £2-300
