Aktimate Mini Speakers sound

I currently have the Aktimate Mini Speakers and quite like the sound they give out - to my not so audiophile ears they sound quite detailed - treble not too harsh, mids great, bass could do with a little more and excellent soundstage/imaging .....

I think I prefer less treble - excellent mids and great bass....

I guess my main question is to people who have actually heard the Aktimate Mini speakers and what other speakers brands/models have a similar sound?

To the above speaker recommendations looking at getting some floorstanders in the 500-1000 pound range with those sound characteristics ....thanks.
