I currently have a pair of ART Emotion Monitor speakers. They are fantastic but not very well known which is a shame (although that is prehaps a topic for a seperate post).

I have a small problem. My flat has some issues with damp and the tweeters (SEAS Crescendo fabric dome) seemed to have picked up a few spots of mould. It doesnt affect the sound (yet) but doesnt look great and i'd like to clean them up. They are fairly delicate though so i am worried any attempts at cleaning could make things worse and damage the tweeters.

Has anyone any advice on how i might go about cleaning them?

There are lots of mould removal potions but if the tweeter fabric has a coating I would not use them.

I'd be inclined to just use a damp sponge carefully or not do anything.

These are expensive tweeters. Perhaps worth contacting SEAS for advise or even send them in for re-conditioning or, if necessary, a dome replacement in pairs for matching.

In feature, use a de-humidifier.

If mould is forming on your tweeters id be more worried about my health.

Too right, it's not even a cold surface so the room must be loaded with spores.

I have a marine tank in the louge and it loses up to 2 litres a day in evapouration and I don't have problems like that.
