Hi I plan to buy a Sony W4500 40" TV, and also upgrade to Sky HD.

I would like to add a Home Cinema System, and would prefer a 2.1 System, to avoid the rear speakers and wires. Ideally I would like to be able to use this as a CD Player (to eliminate my HiFi) and to make that even more usable have a Network capability so I can play my Music Collection from my PC Hard Drive. Finally I would prefer a Blu Ray player included so it won't be outdated too soon. My budget? Circa £1000

I like the sound of the Denon S302, and that has wireless capabaility but no Blu Ray (Are they bringing out a replacement with Blu Ray?, its a year since they launched the 302) . The new JVC NX-BD3 seems to tick all the boxes but I haven't heard one yet nor seen any reviews, anyone know if its any good? The newly reviewed Yamaha DVX-1000M seems like a good option, but misses on Network and Blu Ray. Anyone know if Sony are bringing out an option? They have released a lot of new kit, and erhaps the DAVIS50 with Wireless rear speakers is an option but it doesn't seem to have Blu Ray.

Any thoughts anyone??

The best solution i ve come across is the forthcoming Sony BDV-IT 1000 this seems to cover all your needs but its 5.1 with wireless rears. And now out yet so no reviews also around $2000 DOLLARS. Looks good lots of functions cant find anything else which includes all your needs at mo.

Hi Lobby, Thanks for your advice I will check out the reviews when there are some and also take a listen. Just come across the Panasonic SCBT100EBK, the What Hifi Review was only 3 Stars but many of these 2.1 sytems seem to get lower ratings becauase they can't compare to 5.1.

Not always so! We've just given the Sony DAV-F200 5 stars, as you can read here, and the Yamaha DVX-1000 the same, as you can read here, although admittedly they're both DVD only, not Blu-ray.

I suspect there'll be a lot more 2.1 Blu-ray systems coming out in the run up to Christmas.

Go with 5.1 if you can as it's really so much more
involving.
You feel part of the action rather than an onlooker.
