Advice on system set up...

I’m wondering if I have my set up correct.

My current set up.

Virgin V+HD via HDMI to my Sony TV

Virgin V+HD via digital optical to my Yamaha 763 Amp

DVD via HDMI to my TV

DVD via digital coaxial to my Amp

Is there another way to set up my conmponents?

DVD to amp by HDMI amp to TV by HDMI.

Virgin to the AMP by both HDMI and COAX.

and then there is your Blu Ray. but that will replace the DVD player and Andrew has covered that as well.

just a thought on the Virgin If you keep the as you have it you dont need the Amp on for "just" TV watching.

You only need hdmi for your Virgin box. Unlike Sky HD, it can offer digital audio as well as picture. I would go with hdmi from screen to amp. hdmi from Virgin box to amp. hdmi from dvd to amp. Unless I'm missing something, you don't need the coaxial or optical cables. And you only need one cable coming out of your screen (well power as well).
