Hi, Would like to purchase a TV to replace the current one that I've for 10 years. As you do, I have been looking at all the reviews and aligning to my budget the best tv for me but I am in some dilema regarding this. I have outlined 3 tv's which I am internested in.

Pioneer 46" KRL 46, Panasonic 46" TH46PZ81B & Sony 46" Z4500, all I have seen are near or around my budget, if I had the choice and it did not look to big would choose the Pioneer LX5090 but I think this is too big for my room.

I have seen the reviews for the KRL46 and this is good but does not get all stars and I assume due to the price is this all that is at fault with this TV?

The Panasonic I understand does not provide as good clarity as other sets and

The Sony, although with it's 200MHz technology I am told we could expect more from a set with this high price tag....

So I am confused which set to go for...I want good picture clarity and performance along with reliability.

Can anyone resolve me with my dilema? Which of the 3 are better?

Thanks, Jay.

Thanks, I am about 12 feet away from the wall on which it would be mounted...

I sit approx 3m from my 42" set and tbh could have gone larger.

so at 4m would definately recommend the larger set. At that size also definately plasma.

If you get the pioneer, they are sold as a panel only and therefore you would have to budget for seperate speakers/receiver and cables.

I have a panasonic 42pz85b and am happy. So I could recommend those in the 46" but the Pioneer is the best plasma technology with the deepest blacks. At that size as stated I personally would not go LCD as in the Sony.

When I replaced my 32" lcd with the 42" my wife had a bit of a fit, but now she has got used to the size of it and agrees we possibly should have gone larger!!!

Sorry no idea on that one. Make sure you go and get a demo first, and take along your favourite blu ray / dvd and get the shop to play them. Also ask to see on Standard Definition as well, remember though that in shops they are usually fed off one communal aerial so the input signal may be quite weak. Good luck

Also forgot to mention, if you are mounting on a chimney then it would pay to get someone to come and hang it for you (a professional installer), it may cost but if the thing falls off the wall and you need to claim on house insurance you have not got much of a leg to stand on if you installed it yourself.
