Hello Everyone

I'm new to the forum here and wanted to get some buying advice for all of you video and audiophiles
emotion-1.gif

I had just purchased a pair of Mordaunt Short Performance 6 LE, the matching MS center, and 2 rear in-wall speakers from MS (Their avant architect line).

I’m currently looking for a suitable processor/amp combo or receiver to drive these speakers.

I will be using this setup for
both stereo and movies…

I will need several HDMI 1.3 compliant inputs for:

Sony BDP-S5000ES Blu-ray player

Playstation 3

Digital TV

Computer

I use a Cyrus CD8 SE as my CD player.

I’m currently looking at the Rotel 1570/1575 combo and the Primare SP32/SPA22 combo. I haven’t had the chance to audition either
of them since I live in Hong Kong and the dealers don’t seem to have any demo units…

I’m also considering a simpler setup, with just a Pioneer LX90 Suzano Amp (Can get a real good deal - 4000 pounds). I’ve auditioned the Pioneer at a friends house with movies and I must say it’s quite impressive. I have not done so with music.

I’ve also heard good things about the new Arcam AVR600.

I’m looking to spend under 7500 pounds for this purchase.

Any advice is appreciated…

Are there any other brands that I should be looking at?

Nice set-up you are assembling there, mate!

I would strongly recommend to check out the Marantz AV8003/MM8003 Pre/Pro and Power combination.

I own a Marantz AV8003 Surround Processor/Pre-Amplifier and a NAD Masters Series M25 7-channel Power Amplifier, and this combination is superb.

For a 'one-box' solution, apart from the sensational Pioneer 'Susano' LX-90, I would also strongly recommend to check out the Yamaha RX-Z11 (or known as the DSP-Z11 in some markets).
