I would recommend a good sub with a soundbar - they're a little light in the bass area, and a sub will transform it totally. Try the Yamaha NSSW700 if you want to keep things yamaha and gloss black finish. You won't need to go overboard on the amp, but something like an RXV1065, or an RXV2065 if you want a little more flexibility. Although if you want an amp that will pretty much do everything (and be able to add to later on to improve the system) you'll pick up the DSPZ7 for around £1400, which will still keep you in budget.

As for Bluray players, you can complete the yamaha setup with a BDS1065, or the Pioneer BDP320 will do the job just fine for half the price.

thanks for the advice, i thinks getting the subwoofer will be useful, and the yamaha amp and bluerayplayer would complete the system , keeping it as one company, would ensure compatability and ease of instalation and ease of support. so far i am looking to get the ysp-4100 soundbar, the ns-sw700 subwoofer, rx-v1900 amp, and the bd-s1065.

but am i right getting everything from one company, and would the rest of the system accomidate a bluerayplayer upgrade in say 2 years? or would i be better of getting the more expensive amp? im not interested in 3d tv but i am interested in playing say a cd while i watch tv will this setup allow this?

Most AV amplifiers have a second zone output nowadays. If you want better than the 1900 (which is roughly a 2065 quality-wise), there's the DSPZ7 I mentioned, which is normally £2,000, but available for around £1400. This amp will be more powerful, with more inputs for future flexibility, and will not only allow you to play a CD while you're watching a movie, but will supply up to 4 zones of needed. The integral internet radio is great if you use radio - there's so many stations out there geared towards specific genres.

It will stand many speaker upgrades, as well as a Bluray player upgrade should you wish to.

the speaker will probably need to stay the 4100 as the house i live in is a rental (no drilling holes haha) and i dont want to have the wires criscrossing my living room (ugly and gotta lookout for the dog and cats) , unless you have a better suggestion. As for the blueray player , the question is simple like i said before i will probably upgrade my bd in 2 years when the new disk size arrived and to play bd-rw , so it doesnt need to be to expensive but good for the moment , play cd dvd etc. but obviously the rest of my system must be able to handle the blueray upgrade later.
