active speakers help!!

hello i want some active speakers but want them to have a normal speaker finish preferably oak, does anyone no of any good powered speakers budget up to £800.

anyone?!the only ones ive seen are AVI speakers are there any other options? i do not want them in black.

Hm. Not many options - many active systems are aimed at studio use and end up being black..........AVI used to do their Neutron IV with an "Amp-Pak" in wood veneers, but that takes them to £1,000.

Am searching Tannoy and ATC.............

ATC too dear, PMC too matt black, Tannoy too gloss blue or red.

What's your setup, maybe there are other options?

Adam audio active studio speakers are also either silver or black, so that rules them out.

Could you not hide a little power amp away somewhere??

i will be using the monitors for making music and listening through mac but i have an open plan apartment and do not want black speakers, it seems that all studio style speakers are finished in black!

if not, you could always have speakers professionally veneered top/side/back if you're really that bothered about colour ...

What about white? There's audioengine at the low end, and AVI's ADM9(?) at the grand mark (maybe cheaper online).
