I am complete novce att this stuff and would be very grateful for advice. My current system having irrevocably died I want to attach my existing stereo tutntable to a new simple CD/Radio micro system. I am not an audiophile and not looking for high end equiipment and being old have lost high-frequency hearing. All I want to do is listen to my LPs.I understand I need a pe-amp and also a phono plug to 3.5mm jack plug connector. I see that pre-amps can cost more than £2000 and less than £20 and am confued!. Can anybody advise please. Also I live more than 50 miles from the nearest specialist shop so advice on supplier would also help. Many thanks

These are also worth a listen, and you canorder them online, and send back under the 14 days rule if not happy. If you type phono pre amp in Amazon there are choices running from £20+ as you stated. It does depend on the quality of you TT/Arm/Stylus as well. If you are not too worried the look at:

Motionperformance Quality Phono Pre-amplifier Phone Turntable with Built-in RIAA Equalization (£20)

Cambridge 551p Blk (£70.00)

Pro-Ject Phono Box MM/MC Phono Preamp (£69 approx)PROJECT PHONO BOX MM TURNTABLE PRE-AMPLIFIER (£49 approx)

Project also make a TT with a built in phono preamp.

All the best.
