Hi,

so I am looking for an upgrade to my Sony MX4s which I love. I usually listen to them via bluetooth hooked up to my phone (Samsung galaxy S23 Ultra).

I did earlier this year buy a separates system (Cambridge Audio AXN10, AXA35 + AE100 MK2) and I enjoy listening to that.

I was wondering if I was to switch to wired headphones would I get better sound quality?

I've seen people mention wired headphones + preamps combos.

I have a budget of £500 (I have a Richer Sounds near work I could probably arrange demos at).

I listen to mostly dance/pop and like good bass. For my sins I do listen to BBC Sounds a lot for their mixes so not sure if that as a source is wasted on expensive headphones.

Thanks

The issue with most modern smartphones is they no longer have a proper headphone socket.
Your amplifier does, however, so wired headphones used with that makes sense.
They will offer up better sound or so I am led to believe.

I should add I bought a HiBy M300 player that has a wired connection but I havent used it much but I could!

get the new Nothing ANC headphones. it's Parametric EQ makes them super versatile in that you can alter the tonality to your tastes. I can help with that if you're down. Basically you can make them sound as different as possible within reason
