Hello, world of what hifi forum. This my first post so please forgive me if this is a stupid question.
I've recently bought myself an av set-up and currently have the front L & R channels biwired. This is great as it's given me a much more refined treble, and punchier bass. The draw back of this is that i can no longer have a full 7.1 set-up, as the biwiring has used the surround back channels.
Is this true of all av amps or can i have the best of both worlds?
Many Thank

If you're using the rear channels too, you're biamping rather than biwiring. So the best way round this is to revert to biwiring on the front two, using two sets of wire into a single set of terminals, and then use the rear channel amps as standard.

Thanks Andrew.
I hadn't realised that was the case. Would it be possible to biamp the L & R channel and keep the full 7.1 with a different amp (currently using the onkyo 605). I really like the the extra definition from biamping and don't want to loose it as i hold hifi on a par with av.
I am plannig to upgrade my reciever, just waiting untill the 1k new lines start to appear.
Thanks again ÿ
