Thanks for the reply im using a technics su-z150 amp quite rare to my blu ray player ofcourse, im using a very rare pair of mordaunt short pagent series 2 speakers. I might just get myself a center speaker because the pagent speakers seem to be able to manage the bass and surround sound. They all seem to be working well together im really pleased :)

The MS Pageants had fantastic reviews when they came out! I have still got mine with my Nytech receiver and Raga P3 all the same age and sounding sublime from the late 70s. Hope you enjoy them.

Best wishes

Chris

So you have the BDP connected to the stereo now (judging by your comment regarding volume)? What are you actually trying to achieve? You won't get 7 channels out of a stereo amp.

Good luck with that, those connections are for connecting to an amplifier, the 51fd has no amplification on board, so connecting a speaker directly to those outputs (which will be difficult anyway) will result in very little sound at all as it is not providing speaker level outputs.

Despite being "in cuts", if you want surround sound you're going to need an AV amp, sorry, no other way around it.

Well the OP could buy 2 more stero amps and an active sub. and then have fun trying to get it all balanced

OP if you want 7.1 or even 5.1 you need more amps or one AV processor and amps or an AV amp.

have fun.
