When you say large screens are we talking the mega screens like 90" plus or 55" plus?

Also when do you think it will be available on the main consumer TV market of 37" to 50"?

No news on that at the moment, and arguably 4K2K is of less advantage on smaller screens. It's also easier to do more pixels on bigger screens - more screen area to cram the pixels in, so they don't need to be so small!

At the moment 4K2K screens, and indeed 8K devices, are a technology demonstration rather than a commercial reality. Broadcasters including the BBC and Japan's NHK are doing work on these Super HD or Super Hi-Vision formats, but as yet there's no information on if or when they will happen.

After all, 4K2K needs four times as much data as current 1080p systems, and broadcasters - both here and in Japan - are still using 1080i as a maximum, due to limited broadcast bandwidth.

So I think it'll be a good while before it becomes commonplace.

I'll second that. At CES, there were a few 4K2K screens on show, but much in the way you'd find concept cars at a motorshow - an exaggerated look at the future (hence 150in+ etc), rather than a real-life product
