I have had the 42pfl9664 for 3 days and overall im pritty happy with it. Its in no doubt a great TV.

Iv tried What Hifi settings and several of the users settings on forums and it produced a good detailed image. However with HDNM on minimum and 200HZ set on ON, it annoys me to admit it but when there is movement often with human characters it leave a image trail/shimmer effect on blu-ray (Dark Knight). It doesnt happen all the time but when I see it i feel it spoils the image for me in that it distracts me from the movie. I cant help myself from constantly looking out for it as well, to try and prove to myself its not really a problem

but i see it. Im sure some people hardly notice it at all but it bothers me unfortunately

I didnt want HDNM OFF because there was all the talk in the reveiws about how these processing settings are so fantastic (with great motion?), and I dont want to lose out on the possible extra detail on the image. But then again that image stutter effect just distracts and makes me feel that this setting shouldnt be turned ON at all.

Currently I have HDNM OFF and 200HZ OFF, with dymamic contrast and colour enhancement on MEDIUM, everything else is off.

I tried some quick switches with HDNM on MINUMIM and then to OFF but I dont think there is a massive difference between them, well atleast i hope so.

By not having HDNM on MINUMIM will I be losing out?

2) When playing a game is it only the 2 settings HDNM and 200HZ that create input lag. Can I adjust all the other settings and not create input lag?

I hope you can offer your advice
Many thanks

i have the philips 7404 and although it isn't the 9664 it does have hdnm i have it on minimum because the picture doesn't suffer with artifacting or shimmer as much as when you have it set to maximum.

i know iam not missing out on anything because theres still the sharp picture with all the detail in it.

you can also have the 200hz without the hdnm on but in order to do that you have to turn the hdnm off in the menu hope this helps you a little bit.

also when gaming make sure the hdnm is to.
