3d capable reciever for Sony S770?

I currently have my Sony S760 blu ray player connected to the Sony DH800 reciever via hdmi. I would like to upgrade to the S770 which i understand is also 3d capable. I don't own a 3d tv yet so will only be watching standard blu ray movies on the S770, but will my DH800 support the S770 even though the DH800 is not 3d capable? Will i need to purchase a 3d capable reciever? Thanks

The 800 will be excellent until you go 3D.
