Films are being made in 3D but 3D TVs are becoming rarer. Pity as I enjoy 3D. David Attenborough's Conquest of Flight on Sky is magnificent!

It's a damn shame .when 3D is viewed properly it is awesome.there are many Blu Rays I still haven't watched in 2D yet because I watch the 3D - Gravity,Prometheus,Avengers, transformers dark of the moon and Tron to name a few.

the vast majority have only viewed 3D on rubbish TVs in a bright room on a uncalibrated tv.

3D WILL RETURN

proper glasses free 4K OLED 3D ,full colour,more depth.its just a matter of time.give it 2 years!

I would imagine the fate of 3D lies in the hands of Sky to some extent. Would I buy a 3D set now? Maybe if Sky continue but the 3D blurays are premium price so would expect to buy few. I wonder if TV manufacturers talk to Sky or BD suppliers? As yet I have only seen 3D in Currys so I still see it as an occasional gimmick. Its an interesting question for those looking to purchase a new TV.

I can't understand why Sky Store don't have 3D films. By the time they arrive on catch up, they are old news. I am sure that Sky would make far more money from film rental if they put 3D films on there.

Well they had the 3d channel but dropped it, presumably because nobody was interested.

Yet more bloody tv sets to go on top of the far away mountain...Getting ever nearer!!!
I suppose they can be used in normal goggle mode? This is like the dab hype the nanny bbc pushed!
Then when they realised it was lead balloon, they quietly shut up! Sky much the same, I guess if the suits at sky and the nanny Beeb shout loud enough? We will all take notice?
Think the days of the nanny are numbered! The children have grown up!

I had the 3D channel, and never watched it, I'm guessing a lot of other people did the same.

3D was little more than a gimmick.

I was on the "Big Question" panel (with JoelSim and BobG) when WHF did 3D and Smart TV

Said then it would never catch on. Excellent as a gimmick but in normal viewing there are many depth clues in a picture that don't need 3D. For spectacle wearers it was always going to be a pain.

I wear glasses, and I quite like (active) 3D on my Sony, Panasonic and LG televisions. Gravity is probably my favourite 3D film, but many others also please me.
