320 vs apple lossless test

im running my laptop in to my dac magic (usb)apple lossless and my ps3 in to optical 1 (320) from that onkyo 705(pure audio) -rotel power amp -mezzo2s .both playing the same tracks 10 secounds apart.

swiching between the two on the dac input .after only a couple of track i can hear the lossless is better its not masive but its very clear it has the edge

gonna try a couple more tracks now report back soon

what is strange i started the track on the laptop first then the ps3 10 secounds later same album after about 5 tracks ps3 has caught up and is now a couple of secounds ahead of lap top.(or am i going mad)

No, not going mad. There was a thread on here the other week about a TV with MP3 playback playing music faster, and I think it's not uncommon.

Of course, hard to spot unless you do a comparison like you have, since there's none of the pitch-shifting you'd get with an analogue system running fast.

ive been testing for about an hour and lossless is better.so i think i will invest in apple tv is there any reason why the apple tv will not be as good as my laptop its only a £350 pc world job

also has any one had any problems with apple tv on a harmoney one remote.

Provided all your music'll fit on the 160gig available on an @TV, it should be better because you're avoiding the windows driver palaver which afflicts your average PC.
