3 Months Wait for the Philips PFL9704 !!!!

Having finally chosen the TV I am going to buy (Philips 40PFL9704) - I am being told it is likely to be 3 months before anyone can get me one of these TV's?!!

Anyone know any different?

I've had a similar experience trying to order a 46PFL9704.

I went to order a 46PFL9704 a couple of weeks ago. There is only 1 dealer in Edinburgh who has the elite contract for the 9704 models (and you can't order them from Philips online). This same dealer has had one on order for a customer for 2 months and there was still no sign of it. As a result they are reluctant to take any more orders as they don't want to let their customers down.

Has Philips had some kind of knee-jerk reaction to their premium TV model not being 3D ready so don't want to sell it? Additionally, as a result, is it true that they have a replacement for the 9704 lined up for release in August?

WhatHiFi - can you find out anything from Philips please?
