3.1.2 Atmos

Should I even consider a 3.1.2 setup with Dolby Atmos enabled speakers to bounce sound off the ceiling (12 ft height, flat ceiling)? Is 3.1.2 even a real thing, and is there an AVR that actually provides true Dolby Atmos with 3.1.2 speaker setup?

Hello, there are some receivers that are 3.1.2 compatible. I'm honest with I rather have a great 5.1 system that Atmos. The problem is that to get good atmos you need at least a 5.1.2, and many times this isn't even enough. I suggest to invest in surround sound system, like 5.1 or 7.1 since most content is available in those formats.

Thanks. I should have explained that the room has an open floor plan and I can't use surrounds.
