Hello all,
I have just viewed some 1080P 24 fps content on my 40w4000 tv hooked up to a bdp-s350b blueray player. I must say I think it is a huge step forward in terms of image quality ( I am a fan now) compared to standard DVD.
Now there is one thing that I could do without. This thing that made me think that my brand new stuff wasn't handling things as it should. When I watched the first couple of minutes of the newest batman on Blueray, I noticed that during a slow zoom-in on de city the buildings did have a little stutter/shocking in their movements. I thought that this was weird because my 40W4000 Sony TV was telling me that it was handling a 1080P 24 fps image sequence as did the blue 24fps light on my bdp-s350. It seems to arise with some movements, slow panning and slow zooming, that these stutters can become visible at 24 frames per second. 24 fps does not seem to be enough sometimes. It seems like the eye is not to be fooled in some situations. Still I find this strange Because I can't recall ever witnessing any of the stuttering motion at the cinema, maybe that has something to do with the double shutter times at the cinema.
Can someone give me a explanation of why this is happening or am I the only one noticing this?
Greetings
