Thanks everyone!
BigH, those do look like they could do the trick....good-quality stereo sound in a simple and not-too-expensive package...good tip, thanks!

Dear WhatHiFiers,
Please could you give me some advice on what's more well-regarded: a lower-end hi-fi system such as the Denon D-M39DAB or a lower-end iPod dock such like one of the Bose soundstations?
My price range is around 200 pounds (250 euros/300 dollars?), and I'm not sure whether...
Hmmm you are the voice of reason, Craig...I'm going to listen again today to see if the bass is really satisfying....I'll try not to kid myself!
Thanks!
Zac
Hi guys,
I tried out the Tannoy DCT6 in a shop the other day, and looooved the soundstage and imaging. Only thing was that they seemed to be lacking in the low-end...I'm hoping this was just because they were brand new and hadn't been burned in...does anyone who has them know if they turn out...
Thanks guys!
I think you're right.....my heart is telling me Tannoy! And I'm hoping that, with my fairly small room and a warm amp, my ears will be in agreement!

Hi guys,
I'm trying to weigh up the benefits of two sets of speakers I tried today - the Tannoy DC6T and the Monitor Audio RX6.
The Tannoys' soundstage was amaaaaaaazing - I felt like I was surrounded on all sides. However, the bass was lacking (though they were brand new and hadn't been...
Hi Guys,
I have a MacBook Air (2012) that I'd like to use as a source for my first hi-fi separates system.
However, I'm not sure....what kinds of outputs does it have in order to hook it up to an amp? Coaxial? Optical? I think I read somewhere that it only has analogue? Please could someone...
Thank you for the advice, guys :)
I think I might have solved my own problem, though....
I've just seen the option to upgrade to the PM6005, which has a built-in DAC! Does this mean it'll override/bypass my rubbish MacBook Air Dac as I'm hoping it will?
Also, can a MacBook Air connect via...

Hi Guys,
So....I'm hoping to buy my first proper hi-fi separates gear. I'm thinking Q Acoustics 2050is and a Marantz PM6004.
My source will be 320kpbs/lossless files from my MacBook Air.
My question is:
Do I need an external DAC, or is the MacBook Air's conversion likely to be good enough...
Hey guys,
First of all, I feel like I want to announce to the world that - after 21 years in denail - I have finally embraced my inner geek and am quite enjoying 'trying to become an audiophile'.....! I'd very much appreciate it if you could help me on my journey....!
So, I'm buying my first...
