swapping to a music streaming amp

Not sure which Decos you have, I tried the BE25's 1st and they were "OK", I also tried an X50 which the speed was quite good but it's WiFi range very limited. I do like my BE65's though .... I have 3 across the house, the 2nd is set up as an access point and the 3rd as wireless in the most...

swapping to a music streaming amp

I've just double checked and the Pro won't play files from a memory stick, it will however play files stored elsewhere on a network / NAS. The Ultra is the lowest in their range that plays them from a memory stick, they often have sale on and with Easter round the corner may do then, have seen...

swapping to a music streaming amp

No it wouldn't affect it as the commands come from the network, not IR. I didn't suggest that as OP wants to use a USB for media and not sure if his current amp has that option, the Mini doesn't but I believe the Pro does.

swapping to a music streaming amp

Why not keep your existing amp and just add a streamer to do all the bits your amp doesn't do, one of the WiiM range would probably be best if you use Amazon Music and as your amp has a DAC could probably look at something like the WiiM Pro.

Finding test tones / sine waves

Thought you could have a laugh at my expense .... I was trying to listen to 80 Hz tones and I couldn't hear them and I'm thinking .... I know my hearing's not great but surely I should easily be able to hear those so went up to 100 Hz, then110 Hz .... thought I'll go a lot higher and tried 250...

    Tidal

I'm about to move away from Tidal, I really like the App on a PC but they have a major issue with it seeing devices especially Bluesound, which in essence means you want to play music and you can't. I've raised support tickets that are replied to by AI and don't cover the issue you've raised at...

Finding test tones / sine waves

Thank you to both of you, much appreciated and funnily enough I'm thinking of moving to Qobuz as fed up with Tidal connect not seeing devices at all or constantly disconnecting when using the Windows App

Finding test tones / sine waves

Where does everybody find their test tones for level matching and testing bass etc. was looking up how to test a subs phase and it seems one of the best ways is to find test tones at your crossover frequency and use a SPL App and see which one is louder. I used to have some when I used Amazon...

    Compact bedroom CD system ?

Not sure why you don't like streaming, I was against it for many years as I abhor subscription services (my phone as still a non expiring pay as you go), someone asked me a couple of years ago, when I was younger, did I buy 1 CD or more a month and the answer was yes. They mentioned a...

    Appreciating your system

Tempted to have left it to make you squirm :ROFLMAO: ... Must admit, I'm normally "hot" on spelling / grammar, surprised I hadn't noticed it before. Bought a 2nd x ZA3 a week or so ago to go with the one you sold me set as mono blocks, the room has some placement issues due to speakers being...

    Appreciating your system

I'm 100% in the music 1st .... but as s musician since a very young age, that includes enjoying hearing every bit of detail of every instrument without it having a harsh edge to it. I've always had a semi decent surround sound receiver which I used for stereo as well and a "reasonable" set of...

    Appreciating your system

When you listen to your main system regularly, it's very easy to take if for granted and pick holes in what are probably bad recordings and blame the setup. I've had a day today of trying to decide whether to upgrade an amp in a secondary listening area, using an amp switch going back and...

    Best Bang for Lowest Spend

A big thank you to everybody for their input, as much as anything it made ME think about it differently, he's not an audiophile so just wants something "good" that will do the job and is probably more "lifestyle" driven as opposed to seeking the absolute best possible sound but wants something...
