I just went back and re-read your opening post, have you tried the Ultra with both RCA out using it's internal DAC vs Optical / Coax out into you amp to use it's DAC instead ..... I'd really give that a proper try to see which you prefer ...and more to the point if you hear any noticeable...

I believe using anything but USB out from the Ultra you'll be using it's clock which totally defeats adding to the something else into the chain with to SMSL as the whole purpose is to use it's clock instead. More than happy to be corrected if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Get yourself a Chord Qutest :D I believe the argument for this is the "clock" in the SMSL PO100 Pro is superior and gives the option of passing that duty over from the WiiM ..... I certainly found there was a difference using USB out into my Qutest which does the same thing but passes it to...

You say you recently bought new speakers ...... did you get the rumble before that and changing your amp or not? If it wasn't and you've still got your old amp and speakers set it up exactly as it was before and see if it happens. The new speakers may "dig deeper" than your old ones so maybe...

Maybe look at a separate DAC instead, I wasn't bothered about the display on an Icon or Eversolo so I tested originally a Bluesound Nano with a Chord Qutest and then tried a WiiM Ultra, kept the Nano but later upgraded to the latest generation Node as I wanted an optical in. I lent my neighbour...

My neighbour had the Gen2 and an Icon to compare about 6 months ago before deciding which to buy ..... he's still got the Icon. He did like the Eversolo as well but his comments were it was mind blowingly good with some tracks but really not so with others and as such had a love / hate...
