Just some cheap denon/mission speakers - I will be getting new ones of these too but to match the rest of the components - if this is the right way of doing this?

Hi I am in the position of looking for a new amp and CD player for around £800 in total. I would like to buy british made if possible and I have a Technics SL1210 Mk2 turntable so it must have a MM phono line in. Can anyone recommend a good combination? PS I mainly listen to 80's and 90's...
