    Dali Rubikore 2

I know that -that is my point - is the amp too powerful ??

My new Cambridge Audio CXA81 mkII lacks bass. Now what?

I had aecactly the same problem . I bought a Rel TX7 and have never looked back -it will integrate perfectly and make your system sound fuller and warmer . They need a lot of setting up but its definately worth it . They are £900 so you maybe thinking "i could get better speakers for that "...

    Dali Rubikore 2

Hmm . You may be right . Ive only had them a week now -maybe my ears will get used to them - ive noticed that it isnt on all recordings - so that would indicate that its the recording not the speakers. Bob Marley's 3 little birds sound fantastic and so does Joni Mtchells "I wish i had...

    Dali Rubikore 2

My only concern is the Rotel RB1582 Power Amp - its 200 watts into 8 ohms - Dali are only 4ohms and recommended power of 150 watts max.

    Dali Rubikore 2

So after much reading of reviews and forums iauditioned a pair of Rubikore 2's at home curtesy of Fanthorpes Hi Fi . initially their top end was a little too brittle for me - having to use the tone controls on my pre-amp to tame their ear piercing highs. I moved the speakers around my...

    Cartridge "running in "

Im afraid you are completely wrong about the sub . The Rel has its own built in amp - it has a crossover that is adjustable and a gain control . You have to spend a good while setting this up so that it "disappears " its only when you turn it off that you then realise what it is adding to...

    Cartridge "running in "

Thakyou all for your input . I know the Dali's are the "weak link" but what i have failed to mention is that i am also running a REL T5X sub which raises their performance significantly . I have upgraded from a Orofon Blue MM to the Quintet . I was first using the Blue in a Planar...

    Cartridge "running in "

OK so ive googled this and there are conflicting reports . Just bought a Ortofon Quintet REd and an IFi Zen phono amp . Ive got it set to 60db and 100ohm . Cartridge sounds a bit muddy and bass is ill defined . The mids and trebles are too sharp . Im using the remaster of Pink Floyds...

    Turntable upgrade

Just a wry comment Alears - you can spend as you have shown -a fortune on a TT but if the " drive belt" stretches it all goes to pot !! Much cheaper to resolve than having to replace bearings etc in a direct drive system . The twin camshafts in my car engine are also rotated by a belt -...

    Turntable upgrade

Amazing engineering -and the whole thing is driven off a rubber band !
