I re-set it back to factory settings when connected to the laptop - that's done the trick, although it did wipe everything and I had to load all the stuff back on to it. but at least it's working again, phew. thanks for the advice.

Hi Guys My Sony blu-ray has only two HD audio settings, PCM or Auto (i.e. no bitstream); however, when it's set to Auto the Onkyo always gets PCM, so I never get to to see DTS-HD or Dolby True HD light up on the panel (these things are important, you know...) I've been through the Onkyo's set...
