I would recommend you try the Rega RS1 a small compact speaker which is not fussy regarding placement. I switched from B&W 685 to these and think they are great especially close to walls. Paul.

There are a few companies that make cd sacd players the likes of Sony, Denon, Onkyo, Marantz etc.. Probably better to "google" sacd player and see which comes up in your budget. Paul.

I recommend giving the Rega RS1 an audition, I used to own B&W 685's but found them a over powering with bass. The RS1 have improved my listening tenfold..

Hi I used to have the B&W 685's but due to room layout i have the speakers close to walls, the B&W seemed quite bass heavy and didn't enjoy listening to them as good as they are!! I have now switched to the Rega RS1's and what a great little speaker they are.. smaller and they are not fussy...

I have the "bog standard Pioneer A300r precision" and think its a great amplifier, It replaced my Rotel RA-04. Great sound in all areas. The "fullmonty" must be something special...

They dont have as much bass as the 685's but that was why i changed as i needed them close to walls which caused the 685's to be a bit boomy. I like the sound of the Rega's they just sound right, also i have changed my speaker cable from silver anniversary to van damme UP-LCOFC hi fi series...

Not sure about them being fussy with system matching! i'm running them with an old Pioneer A300R precision and they sound lovely, Better than the 685's to be honest. The Rega's can be wall mounted using there own wall bracket which is handy for people with not much space for floorstanders or...
