    Question Arcam T32 DAB misbehaving

Apologies. I didn't see your reply. Short answer.. No. I never got it sorted. Long answer: I'm trying to troubleshoot this again this winter. I bought a faulty T32 that wouldn't power on, and tried swapping the DAB module, but that didn't work. Next plan is to try a newer DAB module (as Arcam...

    Question Arcam T32 DAB misbehaving

Many thanks for the response Gray. I have a feeling you’re right, the only reason I’m not sure is the tuner’s reluctance to even start searching for any stations. I believe there is a separate power supply for the analogue and digital sections - I was wondering if perhaps the digital side...

    Question Arcam T32 DAB misbehaving

I have recently acquired an Arcam T32 Tuner from eBay. It is in superb cosmetic condition. However, the DAB module refuses to search for new stations and the existing DAB presets won’t kick in. I am getting a good FM reception (via an external FM loop aerial). The DAB connection is also fed...

Question Replacement remote for Denon TU1800 DAB

I have just acquired a second hand Denon TU1800DAB tuner. I’ve just realised it doesn’t come with the remote. Does anyone know if the remote for a TU1500AE will operate the basic functions (channel up/down; change band)? Or can anyone recommend an alternative (apart from getting off the sofa...

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

Here is an update on the situation as promised .. I have installed 3 x 120 mm Arctic PC cooling fans at the rear of the AV unit. They are set up to extract hot air out of the unit, with the door being kept open about 2 centimetres to allow cool air in. The fans are powered by a Phanteks fan...

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

😆 indeed!!! The hinges sound pretty ingenious- where did you source those? My partner is pretty reasonable, but doesn’t like seeing cables which makes separates hifi a tad challenging! I’ll just play my music loud enough that I can’t hear the fans!! Fortunately the control unit I’m buying has...

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

Thanks - yes I have never run hifi inside a unit before, but needs must until I can afford to move to a larger home again. I will be running up to 3 fans all set to extract heat to the rear of the unit, drawing cooler air in from the front. Does that sounds ok?

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

Thanks for the extra thoughts. Quick clarification on my situation... The CDP is actually a CD72T. I assume that shouldn’t make too much difference to the running temps? Although I know there’s a bit more kit squeezed in there compared with the standard CD72. Also, my hifi is inside an almost...

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

Thank you both for your input. I haven’t really tried touching my CDP after use before, but I was concerned enough to post this here. I will check if the heat is further back and closer to the power supply (which I gather is a known weak spot for the CD72).

    Question Arcam CD72 running hot

I have just obtained an Arcam CD72 from eBay. I have been testing it on my hifi and after playing about 5 discs I noticed it was very hot on the right hand side towards the front of the player. Is this normal or should I return it?
