    Should I upgrade to a Denon AVR2310?

I would agree with Frank. Bar the HD audio side of things, the Denon won't be an upgrade over the Arcam. You'd need to be looking at the Yamaha RXV3900 or a similar receiver in that class for it to be considered an all-round upgrade over a 250.

    PDP-4280XD - still a good TV ?

8G and 9G Pioneers are still excellent, yes, with 9G screens still the best against what's currently on the market. I would stick with what you have unless you can pick up a 9G, i.e, 5090 or KRP. They would be an upgrade.

    MA RX6s first impressions...

A good second hand stereo amp could be had for not alot of money and would be a big step up over the Yamaha for 2 channel stereo. So that is also a consideration. Your goal will be 5.1 eventually anyway I suppose, so somehow I don't think you'd consider a stereo amp. Once you start getting...

    MA RX6s first impressions...

Why did you decide to change from the BR5's so soon? When you eventually do get around to upgrading the amp, you'll hear an even bigger improvement If you could pick up a Yamaha Z7 second hand, an RXV1900 or 3900, they'll really sing. It's best to hold the cash for aslong as you can, and get...

    ARCAM AVR600 v PIONEER SC-LX82

pete321:Clare Newsome: It's also worth noting that Musicraft is a Yamaha pre-eminent dealer, and is being fiercely loyal to the (undeniably excellent) product. I'm not, but having owned both, I'd agree with Musicraftt. I found the Z7 not to be as good as the AVR600 with stereo music but...

Upgrade from Onkyo to pioneer receiver.

martynsh1984: Hi all, Had my onkyo TX-SR606 for a couple of years now and I have the upgrade itch once again. My local specialist (peter tyson) is clearing off the older pioneer receivers (lx-72 & 82) for £1099 and £1349 respectively and i'm thinking of opting for one of these. Has anyone...

    Denon 2310 vs 1910

The Yamaha 1065 is as good as the Denon 2310 and it's £150 cheaper. It all boils down to which you prefer tonally with your speakers and if you think the Denon is worth £150 more if you prefer it.

    Cambridge Audio 650BD & 650R update

boxrick: So taking the £1000 RRP price mark into consideration what would you rate better or equal to the 650R? Also say if the 650r had a much lower retail price closer to the £500 would this push its overall "star" rating up to 4 or 5, or were there other niggling things about it you did...

    Denon 1910 or Onkyo 608

PeterPG:I've heard that the 608 won't output sound through optical if HDMI is set for video. If true not good for Sky. Can anybody confirm this? It can be done. After assigning Optical to your HDMI input as normal under the Digital Input part of the Set-up menu exit Set-up Select your...

    Denon 1910 or Onkyo 608

dcraggs: Hi All, In the process of having first AV AMP with 5.1 surround. Already decided on: Q Acoustics 2020 Front Right/Left, with 2000c for Centre, followed by: 2070S Sub and then to make the rears blend in going for 2 Q-AV for rear left/right. Just having issues on deciding what AMP...

    QED Performance HDMI 10m

There is absolutely no need to spend that kind of money on a 10m cable. Yes, you will want superior build quality to compensate for the long distance, but the ones found at the following link will do the job perfectly for £52.99 http://ukhdmi.com/hdmi-maestro/

    Upgrade for amp... help!

I think Yamaha would be a safe pairing with the Kefs. The 1065 is very similar to the 2310 and a fair bit cheaper too. It can be got for £450 at the moment, compared to atleast £600 for the Denon.

MA bronze br5s and yamaha amp , setup , but not right...

Adding a centre alone will make a nice difference. Adding surrounds will immerse you more. Adding a sub will suprise you what improvement it brings. A good sub is essential in a surround system. It fills the speakers out nicely. A BK Gemini with those Max would be a great choice. Best sub for...

MA bronze br5s and yamaha amp , setup , but not right...

These are the dipole/bipoles http://www.exceptional-av.co.uk/product.php?fdProductId=261 I dunno if im allowed to post links to stores or not though? They are a good choice if you want something flush to the wall and tidy like. Not the best choice of music though.
