    I don't get any hum from mine. The only issue I've had is the turntable inputs don't work and I only discovered this when I tried running it directly through the Marantz and not through the inbuilt pre amp. At this point I'd had it for over a year !

    Do you use an eq,tone controls, loudness?

    I have my bass at 0 and a little treble but I do use the loudness on my Marantz PM6006UK. Without it my system sounds flat. Could be my setup , speakers or room. Surely it's all in the ears ?

    I have a Marantz PM6006 and a Sony PSHX500 with a pair of Mission M73i floorstanders. I recently picked up aTechnics SLPG490 CD player on the cheap. I’ve a few quid spare so I’m wondering if these are balanced components and should I spend on the Marantz CD6006 or some new speakers ?
