I've had the Wiim Pro and now use a new Arcam ST60. The Arcam may be better, but i must admit that an important consideration is the controlling app. The Wiim is lovely. The Arcam app 'Music Life's stinks. Go for the better supported unit.

I would suggest a Tom Evans Masterrgroove SR MKIII I believe that the sound quality is out of this world... ... and o it should be at £25,000

Hello, Personally I would request a refund via Ebay. Was there a mention of a fault on the eBay advert? Or was it sold as seen etc? I bought a DAT deck which failed after a week or so. I requested and obtained a refund after returning the deck.

Do the speakers have to be new? I purchased a pair of Tannoy XT6 bookshelf speakers for my Sa-600.. They sound great in a 4x5m bedroom. ..

Funny you should mention tubes. My brother just purchased a Cayin headphone amp at a dizzy £700.. I almost went the tube amplification route,, but the shear cost made my eyes water..

I've wanted a reel to reel for years. My brother gave me his Revox B77. However it's only running at 7.5 inches persecond and his recorded reels were at 3.5 I can't start recording until I've copied his reels onto digital. Mind you, I'd want an Akai 735....... just look at second hand prices...

Remember the law of diminishing returns (is there such a law?) Probably a lot of the cost have gone into materials. I had a Wiim Pro which was nice, function wise, but a bit plastically.
