As you look at the back of the amp. The correct hole is the 5th from the right and on the second row down. I have just checked my 876 and that is where mine is. Hope this helps? Matt

Have you tried a hard reset on the amplifier back to factory settings? Sometimes they can get confused and a simple reset does the trick!

You have the amp set correctly for your speakers. Changing the amp to 4 ohms just lowers the power output on the amp slightly. Matt

When I set my sub up with the 876, I had my volume set at half way. This was way too loud! So I set it just below one quarter and it worked perfectly. Try that setting and see if it works? Mine runs at -3db from the amp.

The plugs will be fine even if they are touching very slightly. Matt

If the Onkyo amp is tripping the power and reseting. I would imagine there is a fault with the amp and it might be worth taking back to where you bought it for it to be looked at.

I find with the TV settings it is down to personal choice. As different people have different ideas about what a good picture should look like. I have mine set either on minimum or 1. But thats how I like to have it set. I would just experiment and set it at a level that you like it at. Matt

It could be that your ears havent adjusted to the different sound your speakers make on the new stands. I would bring the speakers out into the room a little, I have mine a metre from the wall and I use the trusty old B&W 602S3 and the bass is tight and controlled. Play about till you get them...
