From my memory of owning the 602 s3 I think this was a really great speaker for the money! So much so that I often think about getting another pair. Would try and find a nice set though and not rush into buying any old tat.

Thanks for the responses. I'll guess I'll have to try something reasonable but not super expensive and see for myself. If there are real tangible benefits then I'll get a good one... after all my system is pretty high end so wouldn't want something like a cable holding it back.

Will a regular cheapo £1 or freebie cable perform the same as a top end £1000 cable? Does shielding from RFI actually matter? I am guessing a freebie / cheapo cable is going to perform the same but happy to hear opinions. :)

My PMC speakers have this functionality. It does make a difference - not sure its a must have but I do take advantage of it. My Amp has tone controls also.

Thanks for the advice all. I'm gonna flog the cables, if I can get a bit of money for them its better than chucking them. HiFi is a strange one isn't it. So many conflicting opinions, snake oil salesman etc. Best to just use your own ears and rational thought.
