In that size of room, I'd go good quality standmount speakers and a medium sized sub, rel t5 for example.

It's a rabbit hole, if your feet are tapping away and you’re happy enough with the sound, you can happily leave it as is, unless you have a couple of grand to spare. That's circa what you'd need to spend for a decent revamp to improve the overall setup...in my honest opinion.

I'm with Alears on this.....keep the amp simple.....even better just get a power amp and use Streamer /dac as pre amp as many streamer /dacs have volume control these days and some have a rca input and phono stage if you apply the research. And just before anyone calls me a hypocrite, Yes...

Apparently all wiim streamers apart from the mini support dsd...if you want a streaming transport it'll probably cost more than any of the Wiim products... primare have the prisma np5, and hifi Rose if you want to get towards the more premium segment of the market...but personally I have heard...

Unfortunately your probably going to need some sort of streaming box....you can't really go wrong with one of the Wiim streamers....I'd go with the pro plus version as it has a few features the lesser units don't and if you want album art it'll be the Wiim ultra..cracking wee boxes for not too...

Why do you think you need floor standing speakers as opposed to standmounts in your room.....you'll need to have them well out from the wall if you want to avoid that bass boom we try to avoid if we can...me.....I'd be looking for a quality standmount and maybe a small subwoofer....Floorstanders...

I doubt those Dali speakers are bright..it could be something else in your chain...that isn't quite there and showing some short comings in the system. Also.....it can take some time for your ears to adjust to this new sound and what you describe as brightness is the openness and space which is...

I don't understand why you'd eq a streamer to pass it on to a fabulous dac....it's kind of a waste of a good dac.
