    Qobuz Service

I liked Qubuz..but they just pulled out a band I've been listening to lately and I'm not very happy about that....although it's probably not the fault of Qubuz directly....probably the band, Agents, record companies..etc etc....probably the best sound quality out of the usual suspects...I use it...

Bookshelf Vs Floorstanders, no context in my experience.

I have a small summer house in which my Mytec brooklyn bridge /brooklyn amp plus drives the Dali Menuet se's with a rel t-zero subwoofer.......Floorstanders just would not work in that space......but holy crap.....the sound I can get in that 2x2x2 space is quite amazing from this tiny system.

Bookshelf Vs Floorstanders, no context in my experience.

There is no comparison really...I love my standmount speakers, but if I lived in a detached villa somewhere, I'm sure I'd embrace the sonic attributes of floorstanders....neighbours and the neighbourhoods have to be accounted for.

Question Lehmann audio blackcube decade has crackling noise

I don't think I'd part with the original rrp for the Lehmann for sure...good phono stage but not worth £1500.imho.

Question Lehmann audio blackcube decade has crackling noise

I sent it back to the seller for repair...I got it back and the issue was still present...I returned the Lehmann and received a full refund....I then opted for my original preference manufacturer's phono stage...NJC audio's phono stage...I still have that unit and I cannot fault it...although...

Dealers - how to make a customer feel welcome (and get them to come back)

I've had a couple of dealings with hifi corner in Joppa and there previous stored in the city....I was going to trade all my Naim gear at the time for a pair of the kef ls50 wireless....they sat me down and gave me a demo of them and along the avi dm10's. The guy actually told me..look your Naim...

Are all CD players really equal?

I used to own the A85 and cd72t from the time, I remember getting the upgrade path for the cd player from cd72t to the cd82, both were fantastic players as was the amp, to this day, I think it's the longest time I've held on to a product, around 13 years I had them and now they reside with a...

Idle wonderings: Naim Uniti Star or standalone amp and half-size CD Player?

Yes the cd ripping is very time consuming and monotonous. If you're keeping the cd player and turntable in the equation, I'd go with a dumb amp with a decent onboard phono stage, pretty pointless having a all in one unit if there's a turntable and cd player in the system anyway. My Mytec...

Idle wonderings: Naim Uniti Star or standalone amp and half-size CD Player?

I used to have the previous Superuniti and it was a great bit of kit...the usual screen failure was the only fly in the ointment, but easily rectified( at a price)....I'd probably be more into the Nova if going that route again, I already ripped all my cd's to flac, so the uniti star's cd drive...

    Mordaunt Short Performance 6 Speakers

Al is saying, do not buy defective speakers until the vendor fixes them...I'd be looking elsewhere myself...hey but that's just me.

    System Selection

Just a quick question, why would you want a amplifier with onboard dac, when you have a perfectly good streamer? My 1500 quid would be on a good dumb amp ( no dac or streaming), and probably a pre loved unit also, eg Exposure 2510, Naim Supernait 2 etc etc ..and I'd probably stick to class A/B...

If you must wall mount the speakers, Then the Dali menuet se's are the ones to go for....Dali manufacture a wall moun bracket that were specifically designed for the Menuets.....oh and you'll need a small subwoofer to compliment the bass, or should I say the lack of it, but that's the compromise...

A possible demo to replace the Leema

There's a nice 2510 on that well known auction site atm....£1349..... I had a 3010s2d couple of years back...I bought it used for about £900-£1000, can't quite remember how much exactly, but it was a cracking amplifier, it developed a wee fault, it would be playing away just fine and then for no...
