Icon is more than twice the price of the Ultra so not really a comparison. The closest like-for-like would be the Bluesound Node 2024 (which is still £150 more than the Ultra). Despite some caveats, most reviews I've referenced seem to prefer the Ultra.

I wonder why there's no What Hifi review of the Ultra yet? Would be curious to read. Weighing this up against the Node Bluesound 2024.

Quite amusing answers! I'm pretty sure I didnt cut any copper, just the plastic shield. It is annoying at £8 per metre but *hopefully* I can live with it. your answers are reassuring but it will bug me for a while!

I just laid a new Chord speaker cable to run under our new carpet via a plastic tube to protect it. The problem is, in cutting the tube I accidently spliced slightly into the speaker cable :-/ its very small but I can see a tiny bit of copper. I don't have enough to pull more through now so have...
