Throw away society vs customer service

This is the latest response from Samsung. Is this an admission of products being designed to fail after a certain time? Good Afternoon, Thank you for your reply back to Samsung Customer Services. I can confirm that your letter has been sent to executive office by my previous colleague, but we...

Throw away society vs customer service

CRT technology is simply more reliable than current Plasma and LCD. You've mentioned valves, not used in televisions or radios in a long time. Transistors are more reliable. We're talking about a different aspect of technology here.

Throw away society vs customer service

So which companies still provide an acceptable level of customer service? Any stories of particularly bad or extremely good service?

Throw away society vs customer service

You're right. however, I'm more dissapointed with the response by Samsung. I spend time writing letters, pointing out the fault, delivering a technical description and mentioning how Samsung US have compensated their customers; one customer received direct help with a technician coming to...

Throw away society vs customer service

I bought a Samsung 42" plasma in 2007. I recall that at the time, there was a worry that the gas in plasma screens would discharge over time leading to a dim picture. One of the selling points of the Samsung model was that it would give at least 100000 hours viewing time. My picture has now...

    Build your own TV

You're right. But I'm prepared to pay for a set that has the best picture quality a firm can provide. I'm sure without 3D and internet connectivity, it would be possible to build a less power hungry and lighter set. Just let me have the quality I want! Reading through the letters pages of the...

My TV appears to be on the blink. I have a Samsung PS42Q7H, which I bought after reading a review of the 50" model. I've now started to notice horizontal banding when the background is light, ie when an advertisment has a logo displayed on a white background. Also, I was watching Cast Away the...

    Build your own TV

Here's an idea.... How many people use their television to it's full potential? I have a satellite box, so the built in tuner is redundant. I have an amp and speaker system, so I don't need amazing sound. Apple TV fulfills all of my internet needs. I'm not interested in 3D. However, if I...

    Home Cinema replacement

I'm pretty sure that Samsung did something similar to what I want albeit a while back. I have no idea of the model number and Samsung themselves haven't replied to my emails yet either.

    Home Cinema replacement

I'm looking to replace my dated (but still bloody good!) Sony S666 DVD Home Cinema system. My budget is roughly 500GBP and it must have the following: 4 HDMI inputs 5.1 surround sound 1 HDMI output Plays DVDs (or Blu Ray, although I currently use my PS3 for this). Any suggestions?
