The evolution of my AV system.....

Yes, I did try Amazon. It did sound better than Spotify...more clarity, detail and bass refinement, but I still use Spotify at the moment. Mainly due to knowing the platform better, I think. And partly to do with using cd's more than Spotify on the system anyway. CD's through the Marantz player...

The evolution of my AV system.....

Update alert......AE Radiance sub has been replaced after nearly 13 years of service. New sub is a Fyne Audio F3-10, and I'm very impressed with it. It's my first vented sub, whether in a car or at home, but the bass detail and strength has transformed my movie experience completely. And the...

    Music streaming service comparison

I'm not into jazz, but my tastes are variable mainly from the 80's, 90's and some more modern music. I'm aware of Qobuz and tidal but have not researched them much as yet.

    Music streaming service comparison

After my recent purchase of an ifi zen air blu, I'm keen to get the best sound quality out of it. I've been impressed with the unit so far, and it offers so much more than the echo dot I was previously using in terms of sound quality. Therefore I have recently been comparing Spotify premium...

Worth Trying to Fix A Sub?

I have an AE radiance sub, and had issues some time back with it. Definitely contact AE for help, as they were very helpful indeed. They even supplied the circuit diagrams (my father is a retired electronic engineer). But it's definitely worth opening up the enclosure to have a look at the power...

The evolution of my AV system.....

System update..... I've recently added my old Pioneer A-605R stereo amp back into the system, thus creating two separate systems. The CD player and Ifi zen air Blu are connected to that amp and the KEF Q500's. The Ifi zen air Blu is a very recent addition to the system, and I'm pleased with...

    Durability of Blu-ray Discs

To the OP..... I, too, have the same Sony blu Ray player and have experienced similar issues with a couple of my blu Ray discs. From memory, one was a U2 concert 360 at the Rose Bowl. I did the cheapest thing to resolve the issue by buying replacement discs, which resolved the issue. I...

Help.... I want to stream Spotify to an old stereo amp.

Not sure why you didn't go with the WiiM mini which was suggested a couple of times as it seemed to tick the boxes of wjat you were looking for. Simple really..... All the information I saw on the WiiM mini suggests its great, but the DAC isn't so great. And most owners use the optical output...

Help.... I want to stream Spotify to an old stereo amp.

Since my last comment on here, I have become more and more unimpressed with the echo dot in terms of sound quality that I started researching alternative ways to stream. Today an Ifi zen air blu arrived. Yes I know it is Bluetooth but it had so many positive customer reviews I decided to go for...

Help.... I want to stream Spotify to an old stereo amp.

Thanks everyone...I ended up buying a 3.5 mm to RCA lead and using an unused echo dot found in my girlfriends house to stream to my amp. The SQ is adequate....but nothing compared to my Marantz KI cd player.

Help.... I want to stream Spotify to an old stereo amp.

I mean my house is operated by Google products. There is no such thing as a Google home one 👍

Help.... I want to stream Spotify to an old stereo amp.

Unfortunately my chromecast is not the audio version, which seem to take big money on ebay as they are no longer available. So WiFi is favoured it seems, so do I pay over the odds for a chromecast audio, or buy on echo dot, as suggested above (currently my house is a Google home one)? Or...
