Going back to this thread. The fireplace is coming out and the TV is going about half way up, good deal :) Still looking at the 7000's but right now we rarely have to have the sub on as the AE's go pretty low anyway. With the 7000's, is it going to be more or less necessary to have a sub active?

This article might help or as in my case, confuse things a little more. Literally just googled how noticable input lag is. I have an old Sharp TV and although it says the lag is 5ms I seriously doubt it! I don't play FPS's though, I'm more of a Nintendo guy so I don't think it would matter much...

From what I understand and what is swaying me towards the Sony also, is that they have the lowest lag and are therefore most suited to gaming. Honestly I'm not sure if I would notice the difference!

Go large :) Consider the Sony KLD50W829 too, 800 or less at most places now, also with a sound bar. I am in the same boat as you and looking at the Sammy 48 and the Sony. Also not interested in 3D or smart features as we have it all in other boxes. As I am into gaming, really I am waiting for...

Check out the HDTV test, also lacks some motion processing. No idea how important that is :) I don't need 3D either so this is a consideration for me too!

I'm not so worried about stars, finding it tough to compare them in store, maybe I need a proper AV shop. Currys etc are useless. Check out the Sharp info here, maybe they used to measure it differently...

I have a question :) We have a sharp Aquos LC-46XL2E, used for Freeview HD, blu-ray and 1080p gaming. Looking to upgrade, mainly as it seems like we could get a far more vibrant TV now, the blacks on ours are grey and it is pretty smudgy anytime the image moves sidewards, and to think it cost...

Cool, thank you very much :) The have it listed with the B on their site too but the ones that come with free blu-ray players (ebay ready, haha) are all without.
