I'm looking for a new cartridge up to £100. I'm leaning toward a 2M red but I'm open to other ideas. My turntable is a Systemdek 11X900. The square arm board type. With an RB200 arm. I'm using Arcam A65 pre and power amps and B&W DM603 speakers. Your thoughts would be most appreciated. Cheers

Hi, It may be worth scouring auction sites and the classifieds for a Systemdek. Any model would do. They seem to go for a lot less than they are worth. I see them regularly go for less than £100. It's a cracking deck. Suspended sub chassis. Easy to adjust and set up. Good luck. Hope you get...

Basically I'm finding it hard to source an axis bearing and platter where as Lp12 bearings etc are plentiful! im surprised that no "tweekers!" Have tried it! The results could be interesting!

I have to say I use the Knosti and I get great results! Eventually I will invest in a machine of some description but for now I find it a great substitute! half the battle I find is getting in the habit of giving all records a quick once over with an anti static brush every time you play them...

I would tend to agree with most of the above. If you really are set on a direct drive TT. Then the 1200/10 is def the one to go for. However, it's really a case of buyer beware as most have been gigged by DJ's so have been bodged back together. Just be careful! Good luck.

Hi, has anyone ever put a Linn Lp12 bearing and platter into a Linn Axis? Is it possible and will it work is the big question? cheers Nik
