    Port bungs

Yea but if you Google port bungs today, this is the #1 result, no need to create a new thread. Re the rx1 user that posted I'm surprised he found the port problematic, it's port output is minimal in comparison to any other ported speaker I've used. Though I did sometimes plug up with certain...

    Port bungs

Many of the speakers in the 70s and 80s that I used were sealed boxes, and one that used a passive radiator. Of ported speakers I've owned, the more recent models seem to include BUNGS, where previously they did not. I think it's more of a convenience offered by manufacturers to widen the...

    RP6 platter wobble

I cant believe how long this thread is. I'm not "put off on Rega" by this thread, eventhough I do see some issues with manufacturing QC, as well as the new process 2 piece glass platters. Not exclusive to Rega btw, if ever there was a time to say "they dont build 'em like they used to" this is...

When will WHF review the Rega RP6??

I have the 6. Its no great diversion from the Rega Planar sound. As you go up their turntable line you get similar traits. A generally quick yet musical sound with a pretty good list of hi-fi attributes. Going up the line the frequency spectrum, the level of detail, the soundstage all stretch...

    Humming ,buzzing Brio r

Tube amps have some hum and hiss. The brio is solid state but the circuit design of the Brio has some hum and hiss, It is also more prone to RFI. If you can not deal with hum and hiss in any measure you might not want to buy a Brio. The degree of hum/hiss/buzz will vary according to location of...

Should I upgrade my Rega Mira 3 for Rega Elicit?

Maybe a bit late for your answer. Anyway maybe my answer could be of use to others here. I've owned Brio 3, Mira 3, and Elicit (new version). I have also owned the Sugden A21a. Brio sounds musical, and a bit homogenous with a slightly bright and entusiastic fowardness. Control and composure is...

    KEF R100 speaker review

Have a listen to the Rega R3 or RS3 if you can. The R3 has its own little band of followers. I use the RS3.

    KEF R100 speaker review

I used to have the Epos ES11 too, also the KEF Q30's. There is a certain open quality to the uni-Q driver that is hard to match, the Epos are something though, not as "3D" but more musical. The old Epos ES11, 14 (and the old KEF too, like the 104's and other models) are cult for a reason.

    Rega quality control slipping?

I think the OP is actually asking about the new expanded Rega compared to the old small Rega- Rega QC before they increased their number of products from a handful to a stable, and took their markets worldwide.... and anybody that might have been along for the whole ride, or most of it, what...

When will WHF review the Rega RP6??

I'm with lost angelos, why would it matter? It's your ears and your money. WHF gave a 3 star review of the Elicit amplifier, I like that amplifier more than they did, their review does not change my being a completely satisfied Elicit owner.

Technics SL-1200MK2 as an audio TT

You know what they say...ask a question and....you know the rest. It is a fact that the Technics was originally designed as a home audio turntable in 1972, its use as a disco table and the incarnations specifically aimed at the lucrative DJ market came later. Those that say otherwise are...

How about a Technics SL1200 or SL1210 review?

This "pace and timing", "boogie" or "swing" thing get's tossed around in the audio press and is something Linn and Rega tables are reputed to have. When I got an SL1210MK5 my findings were similar to Mickeyjoe's. The Technics actually beat the Regas (P3 and 5) in the boogie department, it gives...

How about a Technics SL1200 or SL1210 review?

I suppose it is all moot now since they are out of production which seems ill timed with regard to the SL1200 gaining popularity in the "audiophile" community. There is nothing wrong with the arm on the SL1200, it has lower bearing friction than many more expensive arms including Rega and as...

How about a Technics SL1200 or SL1210 review?

There are alot of assumptions, bias and misinformation on the net regarding this turntable. Disco music was'nt really around in 1972 when the SL1200 was developed. It was not invented for DJ's, that is a myth. The SL1200 was developed to tackle the problems associated with LP playback and alot...

Have the Rega RS loudspeakers been forgotten?

Hi fi choice gave a pretty good review to the previous R3 model, saying they represented "a high value package with music at its core". The new RS3 has better tweeter and larger cabinet, it has not been reviewd by any hi fi rags. There is an informative thread on them on pinkfishmedia and a user...
