i picked up a preloved NAD 556 turntable at just under 100quid and i'm very happy with that, would much rather listen through the turntable than the CA 651cdp

i was thinking the missions could be the weak link, they are the Mk2 with the tweeter at the top, as far as i can tell not as highly regarded as the /Mk1 with the tweeter in the middle... Would the Tannoy reveloutions DC6T, Dali Zensor 7 or Focal Chorus provide a meaningful upgrade? Of course...

I very recently replaced an old marantz with the 651c and I am very happy with the change, aesthetically its very nice, and I agree with the comments of the previous poster. Im very new to the world of hifi but crudely put, it sounds clearer than my previous cdp, with better highs and lows.

thanks for the advice guys, i will look to arcam and creek as a replacements. Like the sound of the networked CD player.. Sevenoaks has the NAD C516BEE for £179, that sounds pretty cheap to me, anyone with any experience of this, i cant find too many reviews on this player

i don't really know, i just appreciate the audiolab can sound a little clinical at times and thought changing the CD player may be able to provide a contrast here
