Change the interconnects, it worked for me. I replaced them wit QED Graphite and the hum is considerably reduced.

I 've upgraded the Ortofn OM 10 with the 2M Red and it's a big difference, the bass is tighter and the highs are more detailed and less itchy. The upgrade to 2M Blue should be a bigger step. Your money, your call.

I thought about changing to Nagaoka or Audio Technica, but the Nagaoka carts are low compliance and from my research I need medium to high compliance cartridges for my Pro-Ject low mass carbon arm. I don't know if Audio Technica would be a good match to low mass arms.
