So the hi-fi speakers would be on A speaker terminals and the TV speakers on B? I could listen to the Quad via A set then turn off the Quad and listen to the TV through B set? That would work for me. Thanks Guys!

I'll just have to listen to the telly though the telly speaker then. It's only an issue when listening to low volume stuff.

Ok, I have a Rotel RA-11 hooked up to a Quad 405 via the pre-outs. The Quad is powering a pair of Monitor Audio BX5s. This works incredibly well as a stereo set-up. I'm loving the sound. But I also use the Hi-Fi to provide sound for films and TV. The Quad has a huge 1970s transformer inside it...
