Thought I'd come back to this for anyone interested now I've been enjoying my new 820 from TPS. I've seen similar with cases for sale separately from discs, which I still think is odd. As for buying discs, I've completed some collections with both a mix of standard and 4k as available...

I can understand that, it would annoy me too. Luckily so far my series have been bought as boxed sets but no doubt that'll change for 4k discs just from an expense perspective.

I probably need to check but it's a handful at most, so not a problem either way. Thanks for the info on TPS.

Hi all, sorry to ask another question about this but I'm seeing companies selling multi region versions (which appear to be the DVD element). Are these modified machines or just alternate versions as obviously the blurb for them doesn't say anything? One such company is TSP, but I know nothing...

Hahahaha, no it's likely that the 4k blu rays will be my presents. I'll remember about Yodel though as that's reasonable.

Thanks - I might well look at that, but I don't still have the box (I don't think) so no idea how I'd package it or how much the postage would be. Something else to investigate.

Yes, if someone wants to play SACDs they could do worse than get the uhp-h1 I've got (and which, based on everyone's help here, I'm now replacing with the 820) as WHF said in its review. https://www.whathifi.com/sony/uhp-h1/review

I edited my Sonos Arc response to clarify that it wasn't blu rays using Atmos (hence why I'm looking to change the player, so the blu rays do too) but do edits get notified to everyone? As a new forum member I'm not sure how it works.

I have a Sonos Arc that I've played movie soundtracks through on Netflix etc demonstrating its Atmos capabilities.
